Exploring Diversity
The concept of diversity includes acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recogning our individual difference.
The differences can be the following;
- Race
- Age
- Religion or belief
- Disability
- Gender
- Sexual orientation
So if we are all different we need to consider different ways of providing equal access to all goods and services within the workplace.
Diversity in the workplace is about having a workforce that is motivated by beingvalued and treated with respect by its employer.
WHY IS DIVERSITY IMPORTANT
There is a compelling business case for having a diverse workforce. By tapping into the talent and skills available in all groups and communities.
Providing an enviroment in which people can be themselves at work will unleash creativity and innovation, which has the potential to transform the workplace.
